With the sun high in the sky swinging his arms with his inner tube in hand while singing horridly off key Tokuji stopped to admire his new swim trunks, a deep blue with light gray flowers printed on the side of the left leg. When satisfied in his appearance he scanned the pool in search of life, looking for some possible action for the night. "Where is everybodyyyy? How am I supposed to start off the new year with out anybody at this school!?! RAWR!" Working his pouty face as he miserably got in his inner tube and floated around the water. "And I gave up killing zombies for this."

Clad in a canary yellow tankini and with a beach-tote slung over her shoulder, Tara made her way towards Multi Academy's outdoor pools in the hopes of getting in some last minute tanning before the end of summer. Prior to her trip, she had slathered on sunblock of an almost useless strength, but she had always tanned before burning, unlike her unfortunate brother. Her flip-flops made a rhythmic slapping noise against the pavement as she walked, almost exactly to the beat of the song playing on her ipod... and to someone singing?
At least it sounded like singing, or an attempt at music. They were pretty off-key, but there seemed to be enthusiasm behind the voice. With one hand on her hip she stood at the gate and listened to the rest of the boy's interesting serenade. "So I don't count as anybody?" she called out, smiling behind her oversized sunglasses.

Almost instantly he spun around in his inner tube, nearly falling face forward in the water but thankfully he hadn’t gotten is hair wet, though it does add to his charm when wet, just not when it’s all in his face like a seaweed monster, and that would be no beuno. “With a voice that that you have to be someone.” Looking up at the girl he had to raise his hand his eyes to block the sun. Upon seeing the girl he though she looked cute and tried to make his was to the edge of the pool but was being slowed down by his inner tube, he still loved it anyways it was clear with little blue waves on it and two plastic fish that were swimming around inside. Yeah he was that adorable.
When he made it to the edge he gave one of his carefree childish smiles that went from ear to ear. “Hi’ya, I‘m Tokuji.” He gave a long extended wave to her as he floated in the water. “So does the beautiful voice have a name of will I be forced to never know and have to say it was a siren on my journey out to sea?” He said this playfully and gave a little laugh at the end. He couldn’t help but smile at his goofiness as he pushed his hair out of his face and showed his eyes, also another one of his charming features he might add.

Tara giggled at his rambling, slightly flattered but mostly amused. "There actually are sirens here, I think, but I'm not one of them," she told Tokuji. "My name's Soteira Mayfield, but you can call me Tara."
Lazily, made her way over to one of the lounges scattered around the pool, then promptly kicked her sandals off and spread out on her stomach across the chair, rather catlike. She dug around in her bag for a bit and pulled out a slightly bent fashion magazine, flipping immediately to the "Dos and Don'ts" section for some laughs. While browsing the pictures, she called back to Tokuji, "So hey, what part of the school are you from?"

Smiling at the fact that she was laughing at his dorkyness he floated after her. “Well I‘m sure none of the sirens are as beautiful as you Tara.” he couldn’t help pass the chance to say something like that while he got out of the pool, nearly falling back in during the process. Somehow managing to get out of the pool with his inner tube on still he crouched down in front of her making a bored face and poking her in the forehead with his index finger. “I‘m in high school as a senior and why aren’t you in the pool?”
Looking down to check out what she was reading, and having one of his four year old ADD moments he pulled it away from her and started quickly scanning through it, “You know this stuff isn’t good for you, you look fine as is.” Saying this he slipped it back and poked her in the forehead again. “Stop reading and play in the pool with me.”

Tara pursed her lips when Tokuji swiped the magazine from her, watching him through her sunglasses as he spoke. He came across as fairly childish for a senior, but he was funny at least, despite his antics. Once she got the magazine back, the first thing she did was roll it up and lightly thwack him on the head with it. "But I'm tanning. I feel too laaaaaazy for swimming," she drawled, expertly flipping back to her previous page. "Anyway, these things are always good for a few laughs."
This month's dos and don'ts segment featured pictures of small dogs being tortured by their owners via forced dress-up time. "Those poor, humiliated creatures," commented Tara with a sigh. "I mean, what were their owners thinking? That shade of pink is hideous. I wouldn't wish that fate on my worst enemy's dog, let alone my dog. If I had a dog, that is."

Grinning at the swipe at his head, Tokuji sat down in front of her watching as she continued to read. “But it’s so much fun in the water you can splash around and yell ‘WEE!!!’” throwing his arms up in emphasis, “And then if someone tells you to be quite you can tell them to go choke on a watermelon and you can go down the slides and yell ‘WEE!!’ some more and it‘ll be the bestest DAY EVER!” When finished saying this he swayed back and forth with a toothy grin and a nod.
Jumping up Tokuji started to do cartwheels around the pool before running back to Tara airplane style. “And if you want you can wear my inner tube.” Jumping up and down he grabbed her hands tugging at her to go with him. “Yes I know people put their dogs in horrible looking clothes that have no style and are in eye bleeding colors. Now lets go to da pool! There is no point for you to tan at the pool when you could be making great last minute summer memories.”

Digging her heels into the ground was Tara's only real protest to Tokuji's attempt to drag her off to the pool. She tried imagining how Alex would've reacted to this treatment, and chuckled at the thought. Now that would be entertainment.
"Okay, okay, you win!" she conceded, though she was still rooting herself firmly into the ground. The only one that would drag Tara off to the pool was herself. "Let me take my sunglasses off first, okay? I don't want them to fall off in the pool."

"Yay! Swimming is much more fun with more people. Oh one sec." Letting go of her hands he slipped out of the inner tube before jumping his way across the hot concrete towards the entrance of the pool, disappearing behind some tall shrubs. "Don't worry about me, I'll be back!"Tokuji yelled back behind the bushes before a loud 'THUNK' echoed through the air, and then silence.
A minute latter he magically coming back with sodas in hand. "Strawberry or melon?" he asked as he sat down at the edge of the pool dipping his feet in and releasing a sigh of satisfaction. "Sorry for the way I acted, I just wanted someone to hang out with." Looking up at her, squinting his eyes in a desperate attempt to block out the sun.

“Ooh, strawberry! Please,” Tara added, tucking her sunglasses back into her bag. She exchanged them for a pair of swimming goggles that weren’t exactly stylish, but wearing them was better than getting pool water in her eyes. For the moment she slipped them over her head like a necklace and slipped off her flip-flops, then went over to the edge of the pool to join Tokuji.
On the way, Tara snagged the guy’s inner tube, tossing it back in the water as she dunked her own feet in the pool. “Oh, and don’t worry about it. I kind of get what you’re saying, anyway,” she told him, flipping her hair over her shoulder (even though it just barely skimmed the top of it). “The end of summer can be such a drag. Everyone’s so burnt out from part-time jobs and parties and summer homework, not to mention the back-to-school blahs. Right?”
